Abstract

Novel compounds of the formula <FORM:1111987/C2/1> in which R is an acyl residue of an organic carboxylic acid or an alkyl or aralkyl group and R1 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl, amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino or trifluoromethyl group, are prepared by treating a compound of the formula <FORM:1111987/C2/2> with an acylating agent which will react with a <FORM:1111987/C2/3> group to produce a <FORM:1111987/C2/4> group at a temperature of less than 110 DEG C. The acylating agent may be bis-(imidazol-1-yl)-thione, or thiophogene in the presence of a tertiary amine.
