1,109,145. Electron beam parametric amplifiers. SIEMENS A.G. 11 Aug., 1965 [12 Aug., 1964], No. 34320/65. Heading H1D. An electron discharge device using transverse wave modulation of an electron beam for amplifying high-frequency signals uses a periodic magnetostatic pumping field having an intensity distribution as described in Specification 1,102,173 set up in the drift tube 4 between input 3 and output 5 Cuccia couplers. The drift tube is of metallic non-magnetic material. The couplers are in the form of rectangular hollow conductors each provided with two tuning sliders arranged symmetrically with respect to the electron beam.
