ETABLISSEMENTS MAILLE ET VAGNEUX, and L'- EQUIPEMENT MODERNE INDUSTRIEL PAR APPLICATION DU CAOUTCHOUC MANUFACTURE ET DES PLASTIQUES E.M.I. 6 May, 1965 [6 May, 1964], No. 19228/65. Heading F4H. Frost formation on the hollow sealing strip 8 interposed between the refrigerator door (not shown) and its door frame 7 is prevented by circulating a heated fluid through the sealing strip under such pressure as to inflate the strip. As shown, air is supplied through a pressurereducing device 10, a chamber 11 containing an electric heater 12, and an inlet 8b to the sealing strip and is discharged through an outlet 8c, the strip having an internal partition 9 between inlet 8b and outlet 8c. In further embodiments the partition is omitted and outlet 8c arranged on the side of the sealing strip remote from inlet 8b (Fig. 3, not shown), or the air is recycled (Fig. 4, not shown). The strip 8 may be fixed to either the frame 7 or to the door in which latter case the air supply conduits are flexible. Outlet 8c may include a constant pressure relief valve.
