Abstract

1,100,139. Pneumatic conveyer discharging a portable container. N. T. TAMPLIN. 29 Nov., 1965 [27 Nov., 1964], No. 48324/64. Headings B8A and B8E. A portable container 11 for granular or other free-flowing material is adapted to be bolted to the platform of a vehicle and has lugs 23 for engagement by lifting tackle. The container is discharged by a rotary metering valve 13 mounted on the tailboard 14 operated by a blower driven by a combustion engine 15 both the latter being mounted on the container frame 10. A hollow side member 20 conveys the air to the housing 40. The container preferably can be tipped by a mechanism 17 about an axis 12 to feed the material to the housing 40 containing the vaned rotor driven by an hydraulic motor powered by the engine 15. Alternatively a screw or chain conveyer may be provided in the container or it may have a movable bulkhead to feed the material to the rear opening. The device 13 may be detachably mounted on the frame 10.
