Abstract
1,099,679. Photographic photo-developable silver halide materials. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Jan.20, 1965 [Jan.20, 1964], No.2531/65. Heading G2C. A photographic photo-developable silver halide emulsion contains a thiosemicarbazone halogen acceptor, preferably having the formula:- where each of R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> is alkyl or aryl, either of which may be substituted, and R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> may additionally be hydrogen, or the formula:- where x is an integer of up to 4. Compounds of these formulae which are specified include morpholino-2-propanone thiosemicarbazone, propionaldehyde thiosemicarbazone and D-glucose thiosemicarbazone. Other thiosemicarbazones are those of glyoxal and 1(#-morpholinoethylthio)-2-propanone. The emulsions may further contain the thioethers described in Specification 1, 059, 782, a watersoluble iodide such as ammonium or an alkalimetal iodide, or a second thiourea halogen acceptor and a merocyanine dye as described in Specification 1, 082, 498. The silver halide emulsion may be of the internal latent image type and the materials prepared therefrom may be exposed and photodeveloped in the usual way.
