Abstract

1,097,990. Feeding tobacco. W. QUESTER [trading as WILH. QUESTER]. Nov. 10, 1965 [Nov. 24, 1964], No. 47810/65. Heading A2C. A device for feeding a number of cigarette machines with cut tobacco comprises a feed hopper 1 from which tobacco is delivered to a distributer cone 2, the axis of which is rotated about the axis of the hopper around a circle of diameter 2e to form a fleece between surfaces 4, 5 from which it may be fed though closeable openings 6 to cigarette making machines. The openings 6 may be hinged, sliding or swinging flaps and the surfaces 4 and 5 may have a cross-section as shown, or a rectangular cross-section. A rotating cone 9 may be placed between the cone 2 and the hopper 1.
