Abstract
840,954. Mixing tobacco &c. KÍRBER, K. Jan. 15, 1959 [Jan. 27, 1958], No. 1510/59. Class 86 Fibrous materials, e.g. tobacco, are mixed by placing in a trough, in layers, the various materials, and means are provided for ensuring that even the material supplied in the smallest quantity, is spread evenly along the trough. The plant comprises two mixing troughs 9, 9a, having bottom conveyer belts, a delivery box 6 depositing on to a belt 7 feeding one or the other of the troughs 9, 9a, an auxiliary trough 1 with bottom belt 3 and rake wheels 12 connected by pneumatic feed pipe 5 to the box 6, a distributer funnel 2 feeding the trough 1 and being supplied from an opening-plant through a delivery box 10 and conveyer 11. The length of the container 1 is so chosen that even the minimum quantity of ingredient is spread with a sufficient number of layers over the length of the container, and the speeds of the conveyer 3 and conveyers 8, 8a are so related that the conveyers 8, 8a carry out a number, say four, of depositing cycles to ensure efficient distribution of the ingredient.
