Abstract

1,097,953. Bearings; oil seals. TOYO BEARING MANUFACTURING KABUSHIKA KAISHA. April 14, 1965 [April 20, 1964], No. 16024/65. Headings F2A and F2B. A bearing assembly comprises a bearing in a housing C<SP>1</SP>, and a cover F<SP>1</SP> over one end of the bearing engaging a groove 1 in the housing. In Fig. 2 the end E<SP>1</SP> of the cover has outwardlyflaring, spaced-apart flanges which spring into the inclined groove 1 when the cover is positioned. An oil seal H<SP>1</SP> is positioned between radial walls 5, 8 and is prevented from rotating by a rib 14 engaging a groove 15 in the seal. A space 10 containing pressurized air urges the seal against shaft A<SP>1</SP>. A space 13 between lips 11, 12 contains grease.
