Abstract

1,093,842. Bag filling machines. BLACK PRODUCTS CO. Feb. 17, 1965 [Feb. 17, 1964], No. 6910/65. Heading B8C. Means for enabling the spout of a bag filling machine to expand to occupy fully the bag valve opening comprises a resilient sleeve over the spout and a shell portion between the spout and the sleeve, the end of the sleeve remote from the spout end being movable to pivot it about its other end to stretch the sleeve and expand the spout. In one embodiment, the shell 16 is attached to a block 17 hinged to a piston operated yoke 20 and is free at its other end. It is shown in the expanded position. In another embodiment, Figs. 9-12 (not shown), two opposed shells are pivoted outwards by a piston through linkage. An adjustable stop may limit the outwards movement to suit various bag valves.
