Abstract

1,087,681. Snap-action switches. OAK ELECTRO/NETICS CORPORATION. Jan. 21, 1966 [Jan. 21, 1965], No. 2987/66. Heading H2B. A multi-position switch, Fig. 1, having a rotor 44 with at least one contact 51 mounted on a shaft 43 rotatably mounted in a boss 36 in a frame 20, and a stator 52 with contacts 54 mounted on the frame at 53 and concentric with the rotor, has an index mechanism comprising a cam surface having a notch 69 for each switching position provided on a switch actuating lever 45, mounted on shaft 43 and 47, and a cam follower 68 provided on a detent lever 57 pivotally mounted on a boss 35 of the frame, a spring 64 biasing the follower 68 towards the notches 69. The cam surface may contain arcuate portions (70, Fig. 4) for automatic spring return of the corresponding notches 69 to the follower 68. The frame has inclined walls 27, 28 abutting inclined sides 71, 72 of the lever 45 to limit its movement, and mounting apertures 32, 33.
