Abstract
1,087,441. Bearings. IT;V Ltd. May 6, 1964 [Feb. 6, 1963], No. 4893/63. Heading F2A. A rotatable shaft 14 is supported by a bush 18 that engages with a hole 20 in a panel 22, flanges 26, 28 and a pair of diametrallyopposed projections having inclined surfaces 32 being provided on the bush to lock it within the hole. The surfaces 32 and an axiallyorientated slot 24 in one side of the bush allow the bush to be pressed into the hole 20. The shaft 14 carries a bell-crank lever 2, 4 that engages with the links 8, 12 in a linkage system. A lateral lug 16 retains the shaft within the bush and passes through the slot 24 when the shaft enter the bush. The slot 24 may be dispensed with and the shaft 14, including the lug 16, may be made of a resilient material, e.g. nylon to permit engagement of the shaft with the bush. The shaft may contain a slot in its end adjacent the lug 16 to permit radially-inward deflection of the lug when the shaft enters the bush. More than one lug may be provided on the shaft. It is stated that the rear part of the bush may be divided into a plurality of fingers as an alternative to the slot 24. It is also stated that the bush may otherwise have a non- rotary central locking pin.
