[Also in Division B8] An endless conveyer comprises a pair of spaced chains 46 pivotally supporting a plurality of gravity pivoted open ended troughs 52 supported at their free end (57) by overlapping the preceding trough and successively discharged by the movement relative thereto of a carriage 60 supporting the leading trough. The carriage 60 is mounted to run on rails 62 in a plane parallel to that of the conveyer and is moved in the direction of the conveyer by the engagement between an upstanding peg 96 attached to a friction braked chain 76 mounted on said carriage and the spindles 54, 56 mounting the troughs 52 on the chains 46. The discharge is achieved by the actuation of an electrically driven winch 104 connected to the carriage 60 by a rope 106 to overcome the friction braked chain 76 and move the carriage 60 in a direction opposite to that of the conveyer to permit the carriage supported trough to adopt a discharge position. In turn the succeeding troughs are successively supported and then discharged by the movement of the carriage. The amount and position of animal feed discharged into a feeding trough 12 can therefore be controlled by controlling the movement of the carriage. The carriage supports the troughs by means of a rubber tyred wheel 100 and may have a pivotable flap 12 mounted below and in front of the wheel to direct the discharged material to each side of a feeding trough divide (116). The lower run of the conveyer chains is supported by longitudinally extending beams 50 and the troughs in the upper run of the conveyer are guided by a substantially horizontal frame 38.
