Abstract

1,087,032. Cylinder locks. WARTSILAYHTYMA OY WARTSILA-KONOERNEN A.B. Oct. 21, 1964 [Oct. 22, 1963], No. 43021/ 64. Heading E2A. A cylinder lock-mechanism comprises a casing 1 having longitudinal groove 11 in an inside cylindrical surface and which contains a rotatable hollow lock cylinder 4, said cylinder containing a number of substantially circular locking discs 5 separated from each other by non-rotatable disc springs (not shown) providing axial pressure, each disc being provided with a notch 6 in its rim and lug extending from a rim, the lugs engaging a cutout in the wall of the cylinder to limit rotation of the discs, the mechanisms including a locking bar 7 which when the mechanism is in locking condition rests partly in a slot 10 in the wall of the cylinder and partly in the groove in the inside cylindrical surface of the casing on the rims of the locking discs, and when the mechanism is an unlocking condition rests partly in the lined-up notches in the locking discs and partly in the cylinder slot, said locking part consisting solely of a straight pin free to rotate around its -axis and positioned parallel to the axis of the lock cylinder. As shown the locking bar has a circular cross section and the rear wall of each of the notches in the locking discs is inclined rearwardly to allow rotation therealong of the locking bar around its axis thereby facilitating the radial movement of the locking bar.
