To facilitate opening a carton, the inner 4 of the two main closure flaps 2, 4 glued together, has a cut 7 at its fold line 6, from the ends of which proceeds a line of weakness 9. To open the carton, the tab (8), formed by the cut 7 and projecting across the fold 6, is raised causing flap 4 to tear along the line 9.
