Abstract

1,086,037. Combine - harvesters. P. LAVERDA. July 25, 1966, No. 33351/66. Heading A1F. [Also in Division B8] A slewable discharge device 2 for the grain container 3 of a harvester-thresher which has in the container 3 a scroll 11 mounted on a rotatable shaft 10, comprises a tubular discharge conduit 2a enclosing a scroll 20 secured to a rotary shaft 19 and formed with an outlet 4 at its free end. The shaft 19 rotates about an axis B-B and the device 2 is slewable about an axis A-A through bearings 7. An intermediate shaft 15 with blades 16 is located along the axis A-A and drivingly couples shafts 10, 19 through bevel wheel pairs 13, 17 respectively enclosed in sealed bearing housings 14, 18. The arrangement is such that the shaft 10 drives the shaft 19 at any angle of slew between two extreme positions and the connection between the conduit 2a and the container 3 is at all times continuous. The device 2 is slewed by means of a crank (28), Fig. 2 (not shown), arranged near the driver's seat (29) and may be locked in the required position by a pressure screw (30).
