A multiple puncture device comprises a barrel containing a displaceable plunger, means for displacing the plunger, a magnetic member on the plunger, a needle plate magnetically retained by the magnetic member but removable therefrom as desired, and a perforated skin plate attached to the needle plate, the needle plate being movable relative to the skin plate so that needle points on the needle plate can project through holes in the skin plate when the plunger is depressed. As illustrated in Figure 1, a cylindrical barrel 1 is constructed to have a flared end and an integral locating ring 2. A plunger 3, to which a magnetic plate 4 is secured by screw 5, is movable inside the barrel, spring 6 urging the barrel to an inoperative position as shown when the lower surface of the magnetic plate is flush with the lower surface of the locating ring. A plug 7, which screws into the other end of the barrel, supports a finger grip 6a and carries a handle 8 terminating in head 18a. The handle includes a spring-loaded operating mechanism for displacing the plunger, for example a striker rod 9 and compression spring 10 assembly such as is disclosed in Specification 885036. Removably and magnetically secured to the magnetic plate is a needle assembly comprising perforated needle plate 11 having needle points 12 and perforated skin plate 13 having holes 14 equal in number to the needle points and arranged so that the needle points can protrude therethrough. As shown, the skin plate may have a plurality of legs 15 extending towards the magnetic member, the ends of the legs adjacent the magnetic member being turned over so that the needle plate is held between the skin plate and the turned-over end portions of the legs, which legs are. slightly longer than the needle points.
