Abstract

1,080,241. Corsets. S. H. CAMP & CO. Jan. 1, 1965 [Feb. 3, 1964], No. 148/65. Heading A3V. [Also in Division A5] A corset incorporates a back brace comprising a rigid plate 12, defining parallel bars joined by a cross-piece 24 and having a pelvic band 14 joined to its lower end. The plate 12 and the band 14 have removable covers each comprising inner and outer fabric layers and a foam rubber or polyurethane padding. Corset panels 62, 64 are laced to the side edges of the plate cover. Shoulder straps 56 extend from the upper end of the plate cover and, in use, pass under the wearer's armpits, are threaded through loops (88) on the plate cover and are secured to the front of the corset panels.
