Abstract
1,079,297. Ignition systems. ROBERT BOSCH G. m. b. H. Aug.17, 1964 [Aug. 31, 1963], No. 33477/64. Heading F1B. An ignition system comprises a first controllable semi-conductor rectifier 16 connected in series with the primary winding of the ignition coil and a second controllable semi-conductor rectifier 18 connected in series with a first resistor and a control device 20 common to both rectifiers, for controlling the rectifiers so that they operate in anti-phase, the control device being arranged between second and third resistors of the circuit which also contains a first capacitor 26 by which the firing electrode of the first rectifier is connected to the second resistor, a second capacitor 30 by which the firing electrode of the second rectifier is connected to the third resistor and a recharging capacitor 40 connected between the main electrodes of the rectifiers connected to the primary winding of the ignition coil and to the first resistor respectively. An electromagnetic or electronic breaker may be used instead of the cam operated contact breaker.
