Abstract

1,079,144. Buckles. INDUSTRIAL SAFETY SERVICES PROPRIETARY Ltd. Oct. 12, 1965 [Oct. 13, 1964], No. 43143/65. Heading E2A. A safety belt buckle comprises two parts each connected to an end of the belt, one part consists of a base plate 5 with a lid 22 pivoting on a spindle 8 now rotatably mounted between side walls of the base plate and with three spaced projections which engage apertures in the second buckle part 9 insertable in the other part. A pair of dogs 14, 15 (not shown) rotatable on the spindle 8 are controlled by cams 23, 24 rotatable on the spindle and spring urged to contact the dogs and retain them in clamping position on the part 9. The buckle part 9 is released by pivoting the lid 22 so that an abutment 26 on the lid engages the cams 23 which engage the dogs and pivot them from clamping engagement with the part 9 which then can be raised from the projections and withdrawn from the first part of the buckle.
