Abstract

1,077,786. Water heaters. BURGER EISENWERKE A.G. Jan. 26, 1965 [Feb. 6, 1964 (2)], No. 3440/65. Heading F4A. A water heater comprises a porous ceramic gas radiator 3 in a heating casing 2 surrounded by a water jacket 1 and a coil of tubing 5 connected to the end of the casing 2 remote from the fuel inlet 4 and wound through the water jacket around the casing 2 to a waste gas outlet 10. A cylindrical baffle plate 12 is fixed to the end plate 16 of the heater and is open at the upper end and water circulates from a cold water inlet 13 over the coil 5 and downwardly within the baffle 12 to a hot water outlet pipe 14. Gas-air mixture is supplied to the burner through a pipe 4 carrying a sleeve 18 and pressed upwards by a spring 20 to force an upper starshaped end piece 22 of the burner against a reduced portion 23 of the casing 2. The sleeve 18 forms with a tube 19 a labyrinth seal against gas leakage.
