Abstract

107,618. Hawxhurst, J. J., and Nicolai, E. F. June 24, 1916. Spray carburettors.-A carburettor designed to produce a mixture of constant strength at all speeds has a primary - air - supply passage 7 i n t o which projects a fuel nozzle 18 supplied from an annular float chamber 12. The outlet from the fuel nozzle is controlled bv a a needle valve 37 carried by a suction-actuated valve 34 which closes upon an adjustable seating 23, 24 and controls the admission of supplementary air through orifices 27 which are masked more or less by a projecting ledge 36 on the valve 34. The movements of the air valve are regulated by a needle valve 43 which opens the chamber 35 more or less to the atmosphere. Hot air may be admitted through the supply passage 7.
