Abstract

1,072,668. Containers. CORNELIUS CO. May 3, 1966, No. 19447/66. Heading B8D. A container (10), Fig. 1 (not shown), particularly for carbonated liquids, comprises a cylindrical tank (11) and an annular skirt 12 in which are cut hand holes 17, 18, defining handle portions 19, 20, in which are embedded inverted U-shaped rigid reinforcing members 22, 23, the skirt also having openings 15, 16 through which pressure and liquid fittings project. The skirt is formed with a number of reinforcing holes (30) and webs (31), Fig. 4 (not shown). Similar skirts may be formed at both ends of the tank. The hand holes and fitting openings may be other than diametrically opposed. The tank may be formed from stainless steel and the skirt from a butyl rubber or a plastics material, heat-bonded or vulcanized to the tank end.
