A trailer with side walls 53 and a roll-floor 54 has a pick-up device 5 and a feeding device 6 whereby crop lying on the ground may be loaded into the trailer. The trailer is towed by a tractor (not shown) and powered from the power-take-off thereof through a shaft 36. Tines 7 on an endless belt 8 pick up the crop and deliver it to a plate 43. The belt 8 runs around drums 9, 10 supported in a frame 16 pivoted about the axis 11 of the drum 9 the weight being partly taken by a spring 19. On the inside walls of two plates 20, 21, one each side of the trailer gear-wheels 26, driven from the power-take-off of the tractor, are mounted. A shaft 29 extends between the gear-wheels 29 and carries a number of tines 30 pivoted to the shaft 29. Each tine 30 is pivoted to a coupling rod 32 pivoted at 33 on a support 34 carried on a beam 24 mounted on the trailer frame. The points of the tines 30 follow the path B as the gear-wheels 26 rotate and thus feed the crop from the plate 43 into the trailer loading space over a spring-loaded plate 45 with detaining barbs 50 and a screening plate 51. When the crop is displaced by the tines 30 to the rear the plate 45 can deflect downwards to allow the crop to pass, but when the tines 30 are in the upper section of their path move resiliently upwards to restrict the feeding passage.
