Abstract

1,069,649. Multi-ply wrappers. AUTO WRAPPERS (NORWICH) Ltd. Oct. 27, 1964 [Nov. 28, 1963], No. 47041/63. Heading B8C. An inner paper layer 1 (Fig. 2) of a wrapper tubed about an article includes a portion 3 gripped between the edges 2a of a larger outer sealable layer 2 forming a fin seal which is then laid flat against the package. The end of the package is then pleated at (5), (Fig. 4, not shown) to form a flat closure which is sealed against the flat end face of the package. The outer layer of the wrapper may be cellulose film, and the seals may be effected by heat-sealing or by pressure - sensitive adhesive. The wrapping may be effected by the machine described in Specification 1,067,159.
