Abstract

1,069,452. Thermoelectric devices. BORGWARNER CORPORATION. April 23, 1965 [May 20, 1964], No. 17263/65. Heading H1K. [Also in Division F4] A rotatable ice mould 11 is cooled by a thermo-electric assembly 12 and is provided with hollow trunnions 20, 21 on the latter of which are mounted electrical contacts 50-53 which co-operate with fixed brushes 55, 56 for supplying current to assembly 12. The arrangement is such that when the mould and trunnions are rotated from the upright to the inverted position the direction of the current supply is reversed and the mould is heated by assembly 12. The latter is cooled during freezing by a coil 18 supplied with water via a line 24, including a solenoid valve 25, and trunnion 20, the water being discharged through trunnion 21 and line 27. Mould 11 is rotated by a motor 30 under the control of a thermostat (not shown) associated with the mould.
