Abstract

1,067,802. Printing-apparatus. LENINGRADSKY ELECTROMEKHANICHESKY ZAVOD. Jan. 15, 1965, No. 1826/65. Heading B6C. Cylinder printing machines.-An offset cylinder printing machine comprises a flat type bed 1 provided with a flat support 4 for a printing forme and a spring-loaded support member 5 for a sheet or plate to be printed, means for reciprocating the bed along guideways secured to the supporting frame of the machine, an offset roller 2, and a number-printing cylinder 3. The bed supports racks 6, the teeth of which are engaged by toothed wheels on the shafts of the roller 2 and the cylinder 3. The roller 2 and the cylinder 3 undergo two complete revolutions during one operative stroke of the bed to the left and they are prevented from rotating on the return of the bed by clutch devices, Fig. 3 (not shown). Inking-apparatus.-Pairs of forme inking rollers 29 and 30 for inking the forme and number printing cylinder respectively are provided with ink from a fountain roller 26 via a train including a messenger roller 27, and distributing rollers 28, 28<SP>1</SP> and 28<SP>11</SP>. The roller 27 is spring-loaded against the roller 26 and is swung away under the action of a cam 35 fixed on the shaft of the roller 26. The roller 26 is intermittently driven by stops 8 which are fixed to the bed and which co-operate with levers 33 connected to said roller by a gear train and clutch devices. Intermediate inking rollers 31, 32 are geared to the racks 6, forme inking rollers 29 are frictionally driven from roller 28<SP>IV</SP>, and forme inking rollers 30 are driven from the toothed wheels of cylinder 3. Bed reciprocating apparatus.-The bed 1 is reciprocated by hydraulic means including a pump 37 which discharges fluid into the righthand side of a cylinder 52 causing a piston 56, its rod 57, and the bed to move to the left on its operative stroke. Stops 9 on the bed actuate a control valve system which causes fluid to enter the left-hand side of the cylinder for the return stroke. Number printing apparatus.-The cylinder 3 is advanced one unit by a cam 7 which is fixed to the bed and co-operates with a slide block 13 operatively connected to a further slide block, Fig. 5 (not shown).
