A rake-wheel type of haymaking machine comprises a frame beam 1 extending along a row of rake-wheels 4 the device being pushed by a tractor 35 through a pushing arm 25 attached to the front of the tractor so as to be pivotal about a vertical axis on the frame and to be fixable in various positions thereabout. The rake-wheels are mounted on cranks 10 carried by arms 8 which are all pivoted to the beam 1 and are interconnected by a bar 14, the arrangement being that described in Specification 914,096. The beam 1 comprises two vertically-spaced parallel tubes and a lug 23 to which the arm 25 is pivoted is carried by an intermediate member (not visible in Fig. 1) lying between the tubes; the same member carries a lug 24 from which a strut 26 extends to the pushing arm. The rear of the frame-beam is connected to the rear drawbar 41 of the tractor by a strut 39, which is, like the pushing bar 25, telescopically adjustable. The frame is mounted on three casters 5, 6, 7 of which the rear one 7 is lockable. The front castor has lugs 52 to which the bar 39 can be attached when it is necessary to draw the machine behind the tractor, the arm 25 being then detached and mounted in a parked position (shown dotted) parallel to the frame-beam 1.
