Abstract

1,064,337. Dispensing articles. HITACHI Ltd. Aug. 19, 1965 [Jan. 27, 1965], No. 35648/65. Heading A4T. [Also in Division B6] In a card vending machine the cards are stored in a ribbon of envelopes folded fanwise, the ribbon being led up through guide 14 and feed rollers 11a, 11b to lift arm 15b and open switch SWb. The ribbon is fed into the vicinity of rollers 10a, 10b and moves arm 15a of switch SWa so that a motor driving the rollers via roller 10a is ready for operation when a coin operated switch is actuated. On pressing a selected switch for a card from one of several ribbons, rollers 11 feed the card into rollers 10 which have a higher peripheral speed so that as the card moves to the delivery opening between the envelope is torn by the tension between the rollers and as the card is ejected switch SWa is operated to allow a relay and the motor to feed the second card up to the rollers 10 to again operate switch SWa whereby the motor is switched off by a relay and the coin operated switch. As the last card is fed through rollers 10, switch SWb closes and lights sell-out lamp and as it leaves rollers 10, switch SWa closes the motor circuit. The switches are interconnected by rod 16 so that arm 15b may rise independently of 15a.
