Abstract

1,063,975. Filters. E. SOEDING. Sept. 14, 1965 [March 17, 1965], No. 39282/65. Heading B1D. [Also in Division F1] In a pumping and separating apparatus as .shown in Fig. 2, discharge screw 6 is attached to rotor 1 of an eccentric screw pump by universal joint 5. A solid/liquid mixture to be filtered is delivered under pressure by rotor 1 into chamber 7. Liquid passes through filter 19, cylindrical screen 13 and out through port 10. Solids leave via valve 12 which contains a flexible tube 12' compressible by member 12" to regulate back pressure. A vacuum source is connected at port 33. Filter element 19 contains bores 20 for cleaning and/or heating fluid introduced at 24. Heating fluid can also be introduced into chambers 22 and 23. In Fig. 4, screw 41 is rigidly connected to rotor 1 and the blades of stripper 40 are pressed against wall 39 by resilient members 42. In Fig. 3 (not shown) in which a conical filter and stripper blades are used, the screw is connected by a universal joint and its outer contour is that of the surrounding filter.
