Abstract

1,061,912. Feeding sheets. ILFORD LAUNDRY Ltd., and A. SMALLEY. March 9, 1965 [April 15, 1964], No. 15541/64. Heading B6B. [Also in Division D1] Sheets are fed on a conveyer 3 to the nip of a roller 2 and are advanced uniformly by a rotating brush 7, the peripheral speed of which is greater than the speed of the conveyer. When the sheet reaches the nip of the roller the brush 7 is pivoted out of contact with the sheet and this causes the brush 8, which is fixed, to contact the sheet and straighten it against the pull of the roll and conveyer. The fitting operation may be controlled by photo-cells or micro-switches. The brush 7 may be spirally wound in opposite directions.
