Abstract

1,060,979. Two-part couplings; couplings; terminal blocks. BUCHANAN ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS CORPORATION. May 28, 1964 [June 17, 1963], No. 20880/64. Heading H2E. In a block of connector elements, for connecting a series of electrical conductors to a strip of terminals 14, each connector element comprises a body 34 of hard resilient insulating material, such as nylon, and a contact 50 having a terminal 54 and a projecting pin 58, and is formed integrally with a key 62 and a key slot 64, by which elements can be joined together in a row. The contact is held within the body 34 by a tongue 60, Fig. 2 (not shown), punched from the pin 58 and in order to restrict movement of the individual connector elements after assembly, they are provided with mating depressions 66 and projections 68. Each terminal 14 of the terminal strip has a clamping screw 20 for engagement with the pin 58 of the corresponding connector element, and a terminal screw 18 for a conductor 16.
