Abstract

1,060,383. Adjustable seats. COMPAGNIE NATIONALE AIR FRANCE. Feb. 18, 1964, No. 6618/64. Headings A4H, A4J, A4M and A4U. A seat body 20 is hingedly mounted at L on a frame 15 provided with rollers 14 engaging in slots 11, 12 in side members 10 of a support. A rim 16 of each roller 14 is spring urged into frictional engagement with side member 10 to hold seat body 20 in adjusted position. The whole seat slides on rails 2 and can be locked in holes 2a in the rails, Fig. 6a (not shown). A vertically adjustable head rest is provided which is slidable in bearings 27, 27a. A resilient pad 30 of the head rest can be hardened or softened by rotating an eccentric roller abutment 31, Fig. 5 (not shown). The seat body consists of a hollow rigid base moulded as a unit from hard plastics material. The base 20b is provided with recesses 24 or a recess 21b to accommodate the ischia. A resilient cushioning material 21 of foam rubber is fitted on the seat body. A removable and adjustable tray 33 is provided.
