Abstract

The process comprises rinsing with water, degreasing, rinsing, sensitizing, rinsing, simultaneously spraying through two nozzles the silvering solution and a reducing agent, and finally rinsing. The sensitizing solution is stannous chloride and HCl. The silvering solution is 12.5 g./1. of silver nitrate titrated with ammonia. The reducing agent is 22.5 g./1. of glucose and 2 mls. of 37% formaldehyde. Soda lye may also be mixed with the silvering solution during spraying. The operation of the apparatus may be controlled electrically. The liquids are fed from pressurized reservoirs 3.
