Abstract

A non aqueous liquid pesticidal plant spray concentrate comprises (a) a liquid viscous mono-olefin e.g. olefins of up to 6 C, polymer having a viscosity of from 30 to 22,000 SSU at 210 DEG F.; (b) from 0.1 to 10 weight per cent of an emulsifier (many are specified) for forming oil in water emulsions; and (c) from 0-50 weight per cent of a liquid non-phytotoxic organic solvent which is volatile at temperatures from 40 to 100 DEG F. The emulsifier may comprise a dispersant portion e.g. an alkaryl polyether alcohol and a stabiliser portion e.g. sorbitan trioleate. Specified solvents are 10 DEG F. xylene, heptane, pentane, odorless mineral spirits, white oils, butanols and cyclohexanone. The concentrates may be applied as oil in water emulsions or aerosols which may contain carbamates, thiophosphates, chlorinated hydrocarbons, sulphur, nicotine sulphate, arsenicals and summer spray oils. These other pesticides may be applied separately after treatment with the olefin.
