A bubble pack for seeds is of uniform thickness over its width, but is thinner at one 2 (Fig. 2, not shown) than at the other end 7: this ensures that, by turning the pack from an inverted position (Fig. 4, not shown) to the position with its thinner end lowermost (Fig. 5, not shown), the seeds may be disposed in a single layer for inspection. The pack is formed by heat sealing the bubble 6 to a sheet of cardboard A (Fig. 1, not shown) coated with thermoplastic material. The pack is filled through the open edge 2 (Fig. 3, not shown) which is subsequently heat sealed. The thinner end of the bubble is preferably thinner than the diameter of a seed.
