Abstract

1,048,337. Lifting dogs for sheet material. J. C. RENFROE & SONS Inc. June 29, 1965 [July 8, 1964], No. 27459/65. Heading B8H. A lifting-dog for sheet material has a fixed jaw 18, a moving jaw 19 operated by lines 32, and a locking device 51 which holds the moving jaw in contact with the load by bearing on the links 32. The upper ends of the links 32 are guided by slots 37. The loading device has an over-centre action and is held in its operative and inoperative positions by a spring 67 which is attached at its lower end to the links 32. A projection 71 bears against the links when the jaw 19 is in the open position. A handle is provided for rotating the locking device.
