Abstract

1,047,633. Pneumatic separators. DAVIDSON & CO. Ltd. May 21, 1964 [May 28, 1963], No. 21265/63. Heading B2H. Fine particles are separated from an agglomerate of pulverized fuel, ground stone or clay, fullers earth, tea or sand by feeding the material through an inlet 12 on to a series of superimposed gratings 22 disposed in a horizontal air stream. The gratings may be formed of round or V-section bars and the air inlet 14 fitted with a gauze or perforated plate 21. The air stream is drawn through the chamber 11 by a suction fan and a further separator in the form of a cyclone or bag may be provided. The mouth of the inlet 12 may be adjustable and a feed valve provided. The air flow may also be regulated.
