Abstract

1,046,959. Venetian blinds. LEVOLOR LORENTZEN Inc. Dec. 9, 1964 [Dec. 9, 1963], No. 50187/64. Heading E1J. In a skylight venetian blind disposed to expand and contract in a horizontal plane, strut-ties 40 in the form of a piece of thin roll-hardened sheet metal overlying the faces of one of the twin cross tapes C2 and bent into close contact therewith to embrace the tapes as a sleeve, are associated with preferably non consecutive slats of the blind, and span the major portion of the width of the slat so as to be flexibly connected by the ends of the tape C2 to the side tapes. When the slats are mounted between two edge-to-edge cross tapes C1, C2 the strut-tie is fixed preferably on the cross-tape on the concave side of the slat and nearer to the lower side of the slat so as not to interfere with full closing of the slats and rests on the horizontal support to take the weight of the slats mounting it and of other slats between two consecutive strut-ties and the weight of the intervening ladder tapes and also maintains the ladder side tapes separated when the blind is collapsed.
