Abstract

A paint roller has a handle connection 1 with a spindle 2 and includes two or more resilient support wires, rods or like elements 6 extending substantially parallel to the spindle and having their ends supported in two end bushes 3 rotatably on spindle 2, the elements 6 being capable of flexing radially intermediate of their ends and being bowed, offset (as at 9) or otherwise formed or arranged relative to the roller axis to receive a cylindrical cover (as at 10) with a push-on fit, the maximum effective diameter of the support elements 6 being greater than the outer diameter of bushes 3. One or both the bushes 3 may be slidable on spindle 2 so that it or they can move when the elements 6 flex.
