Abstract

1,045,455. Taking up slack in flexible elements; masted lift trucks. CASCADE CORPORATION. Aug. 6, 1965 [Sept. 14, 1964], No. 33749/65. Headings B8B and B8H. A reel 25, Fig. 1, for a fluid hose 26 with an internal electric cable is mounted at the top of a fixed mast assembly 13 of a fork-lift truck. The hose is coupled by a swivel connector 27 to the vertically movable carriage 11 so that the carriage 11 may move above and below the reel 25. The reel drum 30, Fig. 2 (not shown), has slip-ring connections to the fixed cable 21 and has bores 37, 38 through a fixed spindle 31 for connection to the cable 26 by a sealed bearing 40 and L-fitting 42. The electric cable 57 passes into the L-fitting and swivel connector 27 through sealed fittings 71. Fig. 5 (not shown).
