Abstract
Compounds of formula <FORM:1044593/C2/1> where n is 1 or 2, R is a C1- 18 organic radical R1 is a C1- 18 organic radical bonded to the phosphorus atom by C, O or S, and R2 and R3 are each hydrogen or organic, are prepared by reacting at 0-125 DEG C. <FORM:1044593/C2/2> where R4 is a group bonded to oxygen by a saturated aliphatic carbon atom, with R(S)nX, where X is Cl or Br. Many examples are given and those compounds in which R1 is C1- 6 alkoxy, R2 is C1- 8 hydrocarbyl or (C1- 6-alkyl) carbonyl, R3 is H, and R is C1- 6 polyhaloalkyl containing at least 3 halogen atoms, one of which is alpha, with the proviso that one of the halogen atoms may be replaced by (C1- 6 alkoxy) carbonyl, are claimed per se.ALSO:Fugicidal compositions comprise organophosphorus compounds of formula <FORM:1044593/A5-A6/1> where n is 1 or 2, R is a C1-18 organic radical, R1 is a C1-18 organic radical bonded to the phosphorus by C, O or S, and R2 and R3 are each hydrogen or organic (including acyl and hydrocarbyloxycarbonyl). Solutions, dusts, wettable powders, and emulsions are mentioned.
