Abstract

1,044,253. Cam mechanism METAL BOX CO. Ltd. Oct. 20, 1964 [Jan. 28, 1964], No. 3659/64. Headings F2A and F2K. In an operating mechanism, including cam means engaged on opposite sides by a pair of follower rollers 7, 8, the roller 7 is mounted for concentric rotation about the axis of a supporting stud 11 and the roller 8 is rotatably mounted about a stud 13 and is movable laterally against the effect of axially acting preloading springs 14. The roller 8 is mounted on a crossed-roller bearing 21. Alternatively, a ball-bearing may be employed. In a modification, only one bearing race is formed on the roller 8 and only one spring 14 is employed. Various forms of springs may be used.
