Abstract

1,043,982. Electrophotographic processes. RANK XEROX Ltd. May 3, 1963 [May 8, 1962], No. 17410/66. Divided out of 1, 043, 981. Heading G2H. A method of electrophotography uses a charge deformable, electrically insulating liquid film overlying the photoconductive surface of a xerographic plate. A liquid layer 85, Fig. 2, e.g. of low melting point paraffin is formed on a photoconductive layer 83 by pouring insulating the liquid from a container 87 Fig. 1 (not shown). The developed image formed after positive or negative charging, Fig. 3 (not shown) according to the photoconductor used and exposure Fig. 4 (not shown) may be projected by a schlieren optical system or the image may be illuminated for photographing.
