Portable buildings; concrete buildings, slabtype. - Buildings, easily reduced or increased in size, and easily taken to pieces, are constructed of reinforced - concrete panels 1 having flanges 2 and stiffening- ribs 2<11>. Additional flanges 2<111> are provided for panels used at the ends of buildings. The panels are fastened together by bolts 10, Fig. 12, or other suitable insertions, with a jointing 11 of paperboard to facilitate tightening-up. At their upper parts, the panels are formed with rabbets to take the ends 5<1> of trusses 5, Fig. 9. A panel designed to take a window 7, Fig. 5, may have an horizontal rib 6 connecting two vertical ribs 2<11>. The flanges 4<1>, Fig. 11, of panels forming the roof may have a ridging 9 of galvanized sheet iron secured by bolts 8 embedded in the concrete; or the flanges may be arranged to overlap, as shown in Fig. 14. Walls of greater height may be constructed by superposing two or more panels, and buildings having more than one story may have the flooring-elements interposed between superposed wall-panels. In buildings of large area, such as aeroplane sheds, the trusses 5 are supported by posts arranged between two adjacent panels. Double panels 1, Fig. 8, provided with strengthening-partitions 2", may be used.
