Abstract

1,041,561. Two-part couplings. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 4, 1963 [Oct. 19, 1961], No. 37557/61. Heading H2E. A printed circuitboard 4 (Fig. 1), is held between a body 1 of insulating material, having a plurality of resilient conducting strips. 2 ending in connecting tabs 9, and a spring steel pressure pad 5, so that the ends of the conductors on the board 4 are pressed into contact with the strips 2. The body 1 and pad 5 are rigidly mounted, by means of slots 10 and 11, respectively (Fig. 2, not shown), on to opposite edges of an opening in a thin plate, the body 1 being locked in position by tongues 15, Fig. 4 (not shown). An arrangement allowing easy insertion or removal of the board 4 (Fig. 5, not shown), comprises a rod 17, extending through the rolled edge 16 of the pad 5, secured at each end to bars 18 which extend beyond one end of the mounting chassis 19, and are connected by a rod 20 secured to a lever 21. The rotation of the lever 21 away from the chassis 19 moves the bars 18 in a direction normal to the longitudinal axis of the connector, such that the part of the pad 5, which engages the board, is pulled away from it.
