Abstract

1,039,609. Electric machines. COMPAGNIE ELECTRO-MECANIQUE. April 25, 1963 [April 26, 1962], No. 16280/63. Heading H2A. The stator magnetic core 1 of a rotary electrical machine, e.g. universal motor, carries at least two members 4, 5 or parts of members parallel to the machine axis, and such members and at least one bearing support 2, 3 are slidably fitted into each other parallel to the axis until the desired axial positions of the support is obtained whereupon they are rigidly connected together by means which act at least on one of the sliding surfaces of the support and member. The members 4, 5 are forcefitted into cuts in the core 1 and may have punched-out tongues 10, Fig. 1, turned back to press the core laminations together. The means comprise welding the support 3 and screwing the support 2, thereby allowing manufacture of machines of different lengths while using the same parts 2 ... 5 which are of punched and folded sheet metal.
