Abstract
1,039,469. Building panels; roofs. C. SEGAL. Aug. 2, 1963; [Aug. 10, 1962; Nov. 12, 1962], No. 30813/63. Headings E1B and E1V. A roof structure comprises a supporting surface 3 on which is secured by spots of bitumen adhesive 5 a number of insulating panels 1, each panel being formed with integral projections 2, and the roof structure being covered with waterproofing bitumen 4. The panels are of cork, or of a synthetic plastics material which may be foamed. The intercommunicating ducts provided around the projections 2 are used for ventilation and are open to the outside air through ducts which may extend through or between the panels. As in Fig. 3 (not shown), a suitable duct comprises a pipe passing through a panel and being bent over at its upper end.
