Abstract

1,039,264. Refrigerating. ELECTROLUX Ltd. March 29, 1963 [April 2, 1962], No. 12500/63. Heading F4H. In a continuous cycle absorption system of the type described in Specification 919,212, the excess refrigerant vapour from the condenser is discharged into the absorber vessel at a point which, together with the inlets for vapour from the evaporator and solution from the absorber, is located in a section of the absorber whose horizontal extent is at most one half and preferably less than one-third of the horizontal extent of the absorber vessel. As shown, the conduit 36 which conveys the refrigerant vapour from the condenser is connected to the conduit 14 which conveys the mixed vapours and excess liquid refrigerant from the evaporator to the absorber vessel 15.
