Abstract

1,037,575. Mounting lamps. M. C. HARLEY. July 13, 1965 [July 17, 1964], No. 29231/64. Heading F4R. The lamp 1 is mounted in a yoke 3, which may be carried by a pivot pin 13 on a base 12, by means of bolts 4 rigidly secured to the lamp and to flat metal friction plates 5 and extending through second friction plates 7 and bores in bosses 8 in the yoke 3. Threaded nuts or wheels 9 are mounted on the ends of the bolts and coil springs 10 extend between the nuts 9 and washers 11 lying against the outer surfaces of the bosses 8. A cork disc 6 is provided between the plates 5, 7. The plate 7 may be provided with a flat on the lower edge engaging a shoulder on the yoke 3 to prevent it rotating. Rearwardly extending bars may be provided on the plates 5 connected at their ends by a bar to form a handle. The pivot pin 13 may be provided with a locking screw fused to the base 12 or a friction coupling similar to the above may be provided for securing the lamp in adjusted position in azimuth. Ventilation holes with caps 18 are provided in the top of the lamp.
