Abstract

A mouldable composition comprises a solid polyolefin of melt index (10X) not higher than 4 decigrams per minute, in which a liquid or waxy hydrocarbon of intermediate molecular weight (e.g. 250 to 20,000) and of substantially paraffinic nature is intimately blended. The specified liquid or waxy hydrocarbons are low M.W. polyethylene, polymethylbutene and polybutene, paraffin wax, microcrystalline wax, Fischer-Tropsch wax, mixed alkanes, mineral oil, eicosane and squalane. The compositions may be blended at temperatutes below the M.P. of the polyolefin, or if desired solvents may be used.
